Joann was a great friend to my mom Madame Butler. She was a tough task master but I have nothing but fond memories of her as a teacher and a coach.

Joan was a great mentor in my first years as a rookie teacher at Archbishop Carroll. She helped me a lot. It would be a task indeed to count all the lives she influenced as teacher/Dean of Students. Beware if she gave you “the LOOK”! Also, she and my mother, June Knab Round , attended Mt. Mercy High School and graduated together! Rest in Peace Joan. Condolences to family from my mom and I .

The last time I saw Miss Coughlin was five years ago at our 50th Archbishop Carroll HS reunion.
Still full of spunk and energy.
God bless you, and don’t make the Angels do squat thrusts!!

I just saw Shorty’s obituary. She and my mom Mary Ann (“Mea”) we’re friends for many years. Although I am confident she is in a beautiful place with the Lord,

I am sad that she’s gone! She always had a big smile for me and asked questions about my life and how I was doing.. She was a good egg and I’ll miss her.
