My cousin, Mary’s, passing leaves a deep hole in my heart as it does in the hearts of all those who knew her. What a loving person she was. Always the first one to send out the Christmas card, St. Patrick’s Day card, and Easter card! We didn’t need Ancestry.com when we had Mary because she knew about all the family in Ireland and could tell you all the names of the cousins and their children. I’ll miss the calls she made just to keep in touch. A piece of our living history has died also with her passing. She was like a mother to my sister and I when she came down to Brooklyn to care for us when our mother, her Aunt Nora, was in the hospital. I am so blessed to have had her in my life. God bless all her family and know how much I loved her and will miss her.
My heart is aching, Mary. You were more like a sister than a cousin.. You were such an important part of the heart and soul of our family. You kept us all up to date with the family news from both here and in Ireland. You were the link that made us all feel connected through your phone calls and holiday cards. I’m going to miss sitting around your kitchen table whenever we visited Buffalo, having a lovely lunch, and tea from your cozy-covered Irish teapot. There must have been a grand celebration with all our loved ones in heaven when you were guided gently home. May God comfort your family with loving memories.
Love,
Your cousin Margaret Ann
My sincere condolences to the Baggott and Carroll families. Mrs. Baggott was THE caretaker of her clan, all who were around could see that. May God’s blessings be given to the memory and legacy she leaves behind. Growing up in Buffalo with the Baggott children was like an extended family to me and my sisters Laurie and Lynn. Sheila, I am sorry for this loss I know your Mom was a strong influence in your life, take care of Malachy, we love him so.
My parents Cornelius and Jean O’Keeffe offer their sympathy as well.
